Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and remove the engine's lower unit (gearcase).
2. Unbolt and remove the water pump housing to access the pump base.
3. Carefully pry out the two old oil seals from the pump base, noting their orientation.
4. Thoroughly clean the seal seating area inside the housing to remove any old sealant or corrosion.
5. Apply a thin layer of marine grease to the inner and outer surfaces of the new seals.
6. Press the first seal into the housing. Then, press the second seal in on top of it, in a back-to-back (stacked) orientation.
7. Ensure both seals are seated evenly and squarely in the housing.
8. Reassemble the water pump components and reinstall the lower unit.
9. Reconnect the battery and test the engine on a water supply to check for leaks.
