Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this kit fits my engine?
Review the "Compatible Engine Models" and "Part Number Cross-Reference" tables on this page. For Yamaha owners, you can use the linked Serial Number Guide to verify your exact model and year. Comparing the parts in the product photos to your existing parts is also a reliable verification step.
What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?
Common signs include the engine overheating at idle or low speeds, a weak or non-existent stream of water from the "telltale" outlet port, and a brittle, cracked, or deformed impeller upon visual inspection.
How often should the water pump impeller be replaced?
As a critical preventative maintenance item, the impeller should be inspected annually and replaced every 1-2 years or 100-200 hours of operation, whichever comes first, to prevent cooling system failure and engine damage.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
