Installation Guide
- Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard gear into neutral.
- Remove the lower unit (gearcase) by unbolting it from the engine's mid-section.
- Locate and unbolt the water pump housing to access the old impeller.
- Carefully remove the old impeller, key, gaskets, and wear plate. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
- Install the new lower gasket and stainless steel wear plate onto the pump base.
- Insert the new impeller key into the slot on the driveshaft.
- Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft. Rotate the driveshaft clockwise while pushing down to seat the impeller vanes correctly inside the housing.
- Install the new upper gasket, seals, and O-rings onto the pump housing.
- Secure the pump housing with the bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer-specified torque in a crisscross pattern.
- Reinstall the lower unit, making sure the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are correctly aligned.
- Reconnect the battery. Start the engine in a suitable water source and immediately check for a steady stream of water from the tell-tale outlet.
