Installation Guide

  1. Ensure the outboard engine is turned off and tilted to a convenient position.
  2. Locate the flush screw port on the engine block.
  3. Unscrew and remove the existing factory plug.
  4. Place the O-Ring (sold separately) onto the new flush plug.
  5. Screw the new water flush plug into the port until it is hand-tight. Do not overtighten.
  6. Attach a standard garden hose to the screw-in flush adapter.
  7. Turn on the water supply. Ensure you have adequate water pressure.
  8. Turn on the water BEFORE starting the engine. Run the engine at idle for 5-10 minutes to flush salt and debris from the cooling system.
  9. After flushing, turn the engine OFF first, then turn off the water supply.
  10. Disconnect the garden hose from the plug. You may leave the plug in place or reinstall the original cap.
