How to Match This Part
This aftermarket throttle position sensor (throttle sensor assembly) replaces Yamaha 68V-85885-00 (catalog form 68V-85885-00-00). It mounts on the throttle body in the intake assembly and reports throttle opening to the ECU for fuel and ignition control. This unit is new production, not a remanufactured or rebuilt sensor.
Match this part in this order:
1. OEM number on the removed sensor or in your parts catalog — 68V-85885-00 / 68V-85885-00-00
2. Model code and year — Yamaha F115 or FL115 / LF115 four-stroke, 2000–2011
3. Physical form — flange-mount sensor body with an integral electrical connector for the throttle-body location (compare with the product images)
Later Yamaha F115 generations that call for a different OEM number (for example 6C5-85885-00) use a different sensor. If the number on your removed part does not match 68V-85885-00 / 68V-85885-00-00, do not use this listing.
- Primary OEM: 68V-85885-00
- Type: Throttle position sensor
- Fitment: Yamaha F115 / FL115 2000–2011
Compatible Engine Models
Confirm your Yamaha model code and year against the table below, then verify that the removed sensor is marked 68V-85885-00 or 68V-85885-00-00. The serial number plate is typically on the port-side transom clamp bracket. Serial location guide: Yamaha Serial Number Guide. Parts diagrams: Yamaha Parts Diagrams.

Installation Guide
- Disconnect the battery and wait for the engine to cool. Relieve residual fuel-system pressure per the Yamaha service procedure before opening the cowling work area.
- Locate the throttle position sensor on the throttle body. Unplug the harness connector and note connector orientation for reassembly.
- Remove the mounting fasteners, lift the sensor straight off the throttle shaft, and keep any alignment reference from the original position.
- Seat the new sensor on the throttle shaft, start the fasteners, and set the rotational position so the sensor aligns with the throttle body mount before final tightening.
- Reconnect the harness until it locks. Reconnect the battery, then verify idle quality and throttle response. Perform any Yamaha-specified TPS base-position check or idle adaptation after replacement.
Mounting screws, gaskets, and sealants are not included with this listing. Use the hardware called for in your service manual.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Will this fit every Yamaha F115?
No. It is for F115 / FL115 (LF115) applications that call for OEM 68V-85885-00 / 68V-85885-00-00 in the 2000–2011 68V-series generation. Later F115 engines that use a different OEM sensor number need a different listing.
Is this a remanufactured sensor?
No. This is a new aftermarket unit.
What symptoms point to a failing TPS?
Unstable idle, hesitation on acceleration, or throttle-related fault codes can involve the TPS. Confirm the OEM number and diagnose connectors and wiring before replacing the sensor alone.
