- With the guard in place, use the pre-drilled holes in the guard as a template to mark the drilling locations on your skeg.
- Remove the guard and carefully drill through the skeg using the included drill bit.
- Apply a marine-grade sealant to the inside of the skeg guard and around the drilled holes to prevent water intrusion. This step is highly recommended.
- Place the skeg guard back onto the skeg, aligning the holes.
- Insert the mounting bolts and secure them with the included self-locking nuts and hex wrenches.
- Tighten the hardware evenly until the skeg guard is firmly secured. Do not overtighten.
