Installation Guide

Note: Early model P102 and P105 pumps prior to 1993 used a different gasket and end cover size. This kit includes the gasket for newer pumps. Verify your pump model and year before starting work.

1. Turn off the engine and disconnect the battery. Close the raw water intake seacock.
2. Place a catch pan under the pump to collect any spilled coolant or water.
3. Loosen the hose clamps and remove the intake and outlet hoses from the pump.
4. Remove the pump cover screws and take off the cover plate.
5. Pry out the old impeller using pliers or impeller pullers. Remove the old gasket or O-ring.
6. Remove the retaining rings and press out the old bearings and lip seal from the pump housing.
7. Clean the interior of the pump housing, especially the sealing surfaces, removing any debris or old gasket material.
8. Install the new bearings and lip seal into the housing, ensuring they are seated correctly. Install the new retaining rings.
9. Lightly lubricate the new impeller with water-based lubricant and insert it into the housing with a twisting motion, following the direction of engine rotation.
10. Install the new key, cam, and cam hardware if required.
11. Place the new gasket or O-ring on the pump body and reinstall the cover plate, tightening the screws evenly in a star pattern.
12. Reconnect the hoses, open the seacock, start the engine, and check thoroughly for leaks.
