How to Match This Part

This aftermarket oxygen sensor replaces Honda Marine 35655-ZY9-003. It mounts in the cylinder-head / exhaust side of the powerhead on selected Honda BF75 and BF90 four-stroke outboards and reports exhaust oxygen so the ECM can trim fuel under PGM-FI and Lean Burn Control.

Match this part in this order:
1. OEM number on the removed sensor or in your Honda parts catalog (35655-ZY9-003)
2. Model code — BF75DK0, BF75DK2, BF90DK0, or BF90DK2
3. Physical connector and thread — compare the product images with the sensor you remove before ordering

This is not Honda 35655-ZY3-003 (BF175 / BF200 / BF225) and not Honda 35668-ZY6-003 (BF115 / BF135 / BFT150). If your catalog or removed sensor shows a different oxygen-sensor number, order that listing instead.

Part Number Cross-Reference

Use this table to confirm equivalent part numbers before you order. Honda may also print the number without dashes as 35655ZY9003 — both refer to the same sensor.

Type Brand Part Number Notes
OEM Honda Marine 35655-ZY9-003 Primary reference (SENSOR, OXYGEN)
Aftermarket Sierra 18-7658 Direct aftermarket replacement
Aftermarket Mallory 9-32201 Interchangeable aftermarket equivalent

Part numbers are listed for identification only. This is an aftermarket part manufactured by JLM Marine and is not sold as a genuine Honda component.

Compatible Engine Models

Confirm your engine model code below, then match the OEM number on the sensor you remove. On Honda outboards the identification plate is typically on the stern bracket. Year and serial cut-offs vary by catalog revision, so OEM number match is the safest check.

Engine Model HP Notes
BF75DK0 75 4-stroke; when catalog/OEM shows 35655-ZY9-003
BF75DK2 75 4-stroke; when catalog/OEM shows 35655-ZY9-003
BF90DK0 90 4-stroke; when catalog/OEM shows 35655-ZY9-003
BF90DK2 90 4-stroke; when catalog/OEM shows 35655-ZY9-003

Do not order this sensor for engines that specify Honda 35655-ZY3-003, 35655-ZY3-013, or 35668-ZY6-003.

Installation Guide

1

Allow the engine and exhaust to cool fully. Disconnect the battery negative cable before unplugging the sensor connector.

2

Note the harness routing and clip positions, then unplug the connector. Unscrew the old sensor from the exhaust-side bung with the correct oxygen-sensor socket or wrench on the hex — do not pull on the lead.

3

Confirm the OEM number 35655-ZY9-003 and connector layout match this assembly and the product images. Thread the new sensor in by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten on the hex per the Honda service manual for your model. Keep oil, grease, and sealant off the sensing tip.

4

Reconnect the plug until it locks, restore any harness clips, reconnect the battery, start the engine on water, and confirm there is no exhaust leak at the bung and no oxygen-sensor fault.

Note: Professional installation is recommended to ensure safety and optimal performance.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?+

This is an aftermarket JLM Marine replacement matched to Honda 35655-ZY9-003. It is not a genuine Honda part.

Does this fit BF75DK0 / DK2 and BF90DK0 / DK2?+

Yes when your Honda catalog or removed sensor calls for 35655-ZY9-003 on those model codes. Still compare the connector and thread against the product images.

Will this fit BF175 / BF200 / BF225 or BF115 / BF135?+

No. Those families use different Honda oxygen-sensor numbers (for example 35655-ZY3-003 / 35655-ZY3-013 or 35668-ZY6-003). Order only if your removed sensor or catalog calls for 35655-ZY9-003.

Does this listing include model years?+

Published year cut-offs differ across catalogs, so this listing does not print a year range. Match the OEM number on the sensor you remove, then confirm the connector against the product images.
