Installation Guide

1. Ensure the engine is cool. Position a suitable drain pan underneath the existing oil filter.
2. Using an oil filter wrench, carefully unscrew and remove the old filter.
3. Clean the filter mounting base on the engine, making sure no part of the old gasket remains.
4. Lightly coat the gasket of the new filter with a thin layer of fresh engine oil.
5. Spin the new filter on by hand until the gasket makes contact with the engine mounting surface.
6. Tighten the filter an additional 3/4 to one full turn by hand. Do not overtighten.
7. Refill the engine with the manufacturer-specified oil type and quantity.
8. Start the engine and carefully check for any leaks around the new filter.
