Package Contents
- 1 x Neoprene Impeller (Replaces Jabsco 17935-0001)
- 1 x Gasket (Note: Gasket type may vary by manufacturer)
- 1 x Lubricating Packet (Glycerin)
Installation Guide
- Turn off the engine and close the raw water intake seacock.
- Loosen the screws and remove the cover plate from the sea water pump.
- Use needle-nose pliers or an impeller puller tool to carefully remove the old impeller from the pump housing.
- Clean any debris or old gasket material from the pump housing interior and the cover plate sealing surface.
- Apply a light coat of the included glycerin lubricant to the inside of the pump housing and to the blades of the new impeller.
- Install the new impeller into the housing. Bend the blades in the same direction as the pump's normal rotation while aligning the keyway or spline.
- Place the new gasket onto the pump housing, ensuring it is properly aligned with the screw holes.
- Reinstall the cover plate and tighten the screws in an alternating pattern to ensure an even seal. Do not overtighten.
- Open the seacock.
- Start the engine and immediately verify that water is flowing from the exhaust outlet. Check for any leaks around the pump cover.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q: How can I confirm this impeller fits my specific engine?
A: The best way is to match your existing part number to our cross-reference list. You can also check the compatible engine models table, but always verify dimensions if you are unsure. When in doubt, checking your engine's service manual is recommended.
Q: My old impeller has 9 blades, but this one has 12. Will it work?
A: This 12-blade impeller is the current design standard specified by the OEM for Jabsco 17935-0001. It replaces older 9-blade versions and is designed to provide equivalent or improved water flow performance in the same applications.
Q: What are the signs of a failing impeller?
A: Common signs include the engine running hotter than normal, a noticeable reduction in water flow from the exhaust outlet, and visible cracks or missing blades on the impeller itself upon inspection.
Q: How often should I replace the engine's raw water impeller?
A: For preventative maintenance, it is recommended to inspect your impeller annually and replace it every 1-2 years, depending on usage hours and operating conditions (e.g., sandy or silty water). Always follow the replacement interval specified in your engine's maintenance manual.
Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.
Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.
