- Ensure the engine is off and the area is well-ventilated.
- Locate the existing fuel filter on the fuel line between the fuel tank and the engine.
- Place a rag underneath the filter to absorb any fuel spillage.
- Loosen the hose clamps on both ends of the old filter.
- Gently twist and pull the fuel hoses off the old filter. Note the direction of the fuel flow arrow printed on the filter body.
- Position the new filter, making sure the arrow points in the same direction as the fuel flow (towards the engine).
- Securely attach the fuel hoses to the new filter and tighten the clamps.
- Squeeze the primer bulb (if equipped) until it becomes firm to fill the new filter with fuel.
- Check carefully for any leaks around the connections before starting the engine.
