2. Remove the screws holding the water pump's cover plate and set the plate aside.
3. Carefully thread the impeller puller into the internal threads of the exposed impeller until it is snug.
4. Hold the outer body of the puller steady with a wrench or by hand.
5. Turn the central bolt/handle clockwise. This action will press against the pump shaft, safely drawing the impeller out of the housing.
6. Once the impeller is free, remove the puller from the old impeller.
7. Clean and inspect the pump housing before installing the new impeller.
