How do I confirm this fits my engine?
First, check the part numbers in our cross-reference table against your existing part or service manual. Then, verify your engine model and year are listed in the compatibility tables above. For detailed verification, please use the Yamaha or Mercury serial number guides linked in the compatibility section.
Where is this filter located?
This fuel filter is installed inside the Vapor Separator Tank (VST). It is not an external, spin-on, or in-line canister type filter. Access requires removing and disassembling the VST.
What are common symptoms of a clogged VST filter?
A clogged or failing VST filter can cause poor engine performance, including hesitation or bogging under acceleration, difficulty starting, rough idling, and a reduction in maximum RPMs.
How often should I replace this fuel filter?
Replacement intervals depend on fuel quality and usage. As a general guideline, it is recommended to replace this filter every 100-200 operating hours or annually as part of your routine engine maintenance.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
