Installation Guide
- Clean the application area thoroughly, ensuring it is free of dust, grease, and other impurities for proper adhesion.
- Use a pencil and a straightedge to lightly mark a guideline on the surface. This will help ensure the characters are applied in a straight line.
- Begin with the middle character of your registration code. Peel the sticker from its backing and carefully apply it to the marked position.
- Working from the center outwards, evenly space the remaining characters to complete your registration number.
- Important: Per federal law, ensure the registration numbers are affixed to the front half of the boat and are in a color that contrasts with the background.
Always consult your owner's manual or local regulations for specific positioning requirements before applying the decals.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q: How do I ensure the decals are applied straight and adhere properly?
A: For best results, clean the surface until it is completely free of dust and grease. Use a straightedge and a pencil to mark a faint guideline. Apply the middle character first, then work your way outwards to ensure even spacing.
Q: Are these decals compliant with legal requirements for boat registration numbers?
A: Yes, at 3 inches in height, they meet standard size requirements. However, federal law also requires that the numbers contrast with the color of your boat's hull and be placed on the front half. Always verify local and federal regulations before application.
Q: What kind of surfaces will these decals stick to?
A: These decals are designed for outdoor use and adhere best to smooth, clean surfaces like plastic, fiberglass, and gelcoat commonly found on boats, PWCs, and yachts.
Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
