4. Thoroughly clean the seal seating area in the housing to remove any old sealant, corrosion, or debris.
5. Lightly lubricate the new seal's outer diameter and inner lip with marine-grade grease.
6. Using a correctly sized seal driver or socket, press the new seal into the housing until it is fully and evenly seated.
7. Reinstall the bearing carrier, propeller, and any other hardware in reverse order of removal.
8. Refill the gearcase with fresh, manufacturer-recommended lubricant to the correct level. Check for leaks around the seal before operation.
