How do I confirm this CDI power pack fits my engine?
Match your engine's horsepower, year, and cylinder count to the compatibility table above. Then cross-reference your existing part number (stamped on the old unit) with the part numbers listed in the cross-reference section.
What are the symptoms of a failing CDI power pack?
Common signs include engine misfires, rough idling, loss of power under load, difficulty starting, or complete ignition failure. If you experience intermittent spark or cylinders dropping out, the power pack may be the culprit.
Can I test the old power pack before replacing it?
Yes. Use a multimeter to check resistance values at the connector terminals according to your service manual specifications. However, intermittent failures under load may not show up during static testing, so replacement is often the most reliable diagnostic step.
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?

Let me start out by saying that I never leave reviews, whether good or bad. In this experience, however, I feel an obligation to...in order to spare someone else the dissatisfaction of dealing with this company.
I purchased an "aftermarket" power pack to install on my older Johnson outboard. This product simply does not work. It is either defective or improperly assembled. Before anyone starts to question whether or not I was just "throwing parts" at a non working engine in order to fix it, I will stop you right there. I have been a mechanic for over twenty years. Powersports, Automotive, and Aviation. Everything on this older motor is working as it should. It is in perfect running condition. This is not a case of trying to fix something, rather updating parts on an older outboard that are known to eventually go bad. Staying ahead of the game, if you will. The engine starts up and runs absolutely fine with the OEM power pack installed. The moment I install the power pack I purchased from JLM Marine, the engine is incredibly difficult to start, does not idle or stay running, and severely backfires out of the exhaust. When I spend the ten minutes to remove this power pack and re install the factory one, what do you know? Starts right up and runs fine. As I previously stated, the product simply does not work.
Normally that would not be a huge deal right? Contact the company, explain the issue, and either get a refund or a replacement product sent. This is where it gets even better, or worse, depending on how you look at it. I have attempted to contact the company FOUR TIMES in order to resolve this issue. I have attempted to use their "AI Chat Assistant," I have filled out order inquiries via their website, and I have sent multiple emails. It has been weeks and I have not heard back from them at all. No response, nada, zilch, nothing. I searched for a phone number but no customer service number exists (should have been red flag number 1.)
In retrospect, I could have spent an additional $30 or so dollars and just gone with another OEM power pack. Oh well, live and learn. But the lack of after sale support is astonishing in this day and age. Consequently, I am now stuck with a paperweight that cost me well over $90. Things are already ridiculously expensive as it is, and people work too hard for their money to blow it on dealing with a company that sells inferior products and does not communicate with their customers after the sale.
Should JLM Marine finally get back to me after leaving this review, (I am not holding my breath) I will gladly update it. At this point, however, I am simply trying to protect another person from getting burned and wasting their hard earned money purchasing anything from this company. There are way too many alternatives out there nowadays. Spend your money on boat parts elsewhere!
