Installation Guide

  1. Safety First: Ensure the engine is off, the key is removed, and the shifter is in neutral. Disconnect the battery for added safety.
  2. Position the Hydrofoil: Place the hydrofoil on top of the anti-ventilation plate (the flat plate just above the propeller). Center it side-to-side.
  3. Mark Drill Holes: With the hydrofoil held firmly in position, use a marker to mark the four drill hole locations on the anti-ventilation plate.
  4. Drill the Holes: Remove the hydrofoil. Using the included 6.5mm drill bit, carefully drill through the anti-ventilation plate at the four marked locations.
  5. Secure with Hardware: Place the hydrofoil back onto the plate. Insert the stainless steel screws from the top and secure them from below using the provided nuts.
  6. Tighten Firmly: Tighten all four sets of screws and nuts evenly and securely. Do not overtighten to the point of cracking the plate or hydrofoil.

Q: How do I confirm this fits my engine?
A: This hydrofoil is designed for universal fitment on most outboard and stern drive motors from 40 to 300 HP. However, please review the exclusions. It is not compatible with Mercury 4-stroke 40-60HP models or Volvo Ocean Series XDP drives. Always measure your anti-ventilation plate to ensure the 17-inch wide hydrofoil will fit without obstruction.

Q: Will I need to buy additional hardware for installation?
A: The package includes all necessary stainless steel mounting hardware and even a drill bit for most installations. An exception is for select Volvo Penta drives (SX-A, DPS, DPR, etc.), which may require longer bolts and a fender washer, which are not included.
