Installation Guide

1. Ensure the engine is off and disconnect the battery cables for safety.
2. Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard motor. Refer to your service manual for specific instructions.
3. Unbolt and carefully lift the old water pump housing off the driveshaft.
4. Remove the old impeller, wear plate, key, and any remaining gaskets. Take note of their orientation.
5. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces of the gearcase and the driveshaft.
6. Install the new gasket and face plate onto the gearcase.
7. Slide the new impeller key into the slot on the driveshaft.
8. Lubricate the new impeller with a marine-safe lubricant and install it onto the driveshaft, turning the shaft clockwise to bend the vanes correctly.
9. Lubricate the inside of the new pump housing and slide it down over the impeller.
10. Secure the new housing with the provided bolts and washers, tightening them to the manufacturer's specified torque.
11. Reinstall the lower unit onto the outboard, ensuring the driveshaft and water tube are correctly aligned.
12. Reconnect the battery, start the engine in a water source, and verify a strong, consistent water stream from the engine's tell-tale outlet.
