Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the lower unit mounting bolts and carefully lower the gearcase from the engine.
3. Unbolt and remove the old water pump housing to expose the impeller. Note the orientation of the old components.
4. Thoroughly clean the driveshaft and the mounting surface on the lower unit.
5. Install the new wear plate and gasket onto the lower unit.
6. Slide the new impeller key into the driveshaft keyway.
7. Install the new impeller onto the driveshaft, turning the shaft clockwise to bed the fins correctly.
8. Place the new pump cup and pump housing over the impeller and bolt it down securely.
9. Guide the lower unit back into place, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube align correctly.
10. Fasten the lower unit bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
11. Reconnect the battery and start the engine using a reliable water supply (flushing muffs or in water).
12. Confirm a steady stream of water is exiting the engine's tell-tale port.
