Align Holes: Align the mounting holes on the guard with the underside of the anti-cavitation plate.
-
Insert Hardware: Insert the provided bolts through the guard and the cavitation plate.
-
Secure Nuts: Fasten the washers and nylon nuts onto the bolts. Tighten them securely but be careful not to overtighten and crack the plastic.

Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q: How do I know if this guard will fit my 40-65hp motor?
A: This 13" guard is designed for most outboards in the 40-65hp range with a standard Class C gearcase. However, it is not recommended for Big Foot or High Thrust models, which require our larger 14" model for proper clearance. Always measure your propeller diameter and cavitation plate area to confirm fitment before ordering.
Q: Is there a speed limitation when using this guard?
A: Yes. This propeller guard is not warranted for use at speeds exceeding 25 mph. High speeds can introduce significant hydrodynamic drag and stress on the polypropylene housing and mounting hardware.
Q: What tools are required for installation?
A: Installation typically requires only simple hand tools (e.g., a wrench or socket set). The process involves bolting the guard directly to the engine's cavitation plate and should take approximately 30 minutes. All necessary mounting hardware is included.
Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
