Installation Guide

1. Ensure the engine is off and the propeller is not engaged. Disconnect the battery for safety.
2. Place the two halves of the propeller guard around the gearcase, just behind the propeller.
3. Align the guard so it is centered and provides at least 1" of clearance between the guard and the propeller tips on all sides.
4. Important: Before drilling, double-check all clearances to ensure the guard will not interfere with the propeller's rotation or the engine's trim/tilt movement.
5. Once aligned, use the pre-drilled holes on the guard as a template to mark drilling locations on the gearcase's cavitation plate.
6. Drill the mounting holes into the cavitation plate using an appropriately sized drill bit.
7. Secure the guard halves together and to the gearcase using the included bolts, nuts, and washers.
8. Tighten all hardware securely. Re-check clearances once more before reconnecting the battery.

Q: Will this guard fit my Evinrude E-Tec or Bigfoot motor?
A: No, this 14" guard is not recommended for Evinrude E-Tec, Bigfoot, or High Thrust models. You should use the larger 16" guard for those applications to ensure proper clearance and safety.

A: Yes. This guard is not recommended or warranted for speeds over 25 mph. High speeds can cause unpredictable handling or damage to the guard.
