How to Match This Part
This aftermarket oil pressure sensor replaces MerCruiser / Mercury / Quicksilver 8M0210755 (catalog form 87-8M0210755). Mercury superseded earlier oil-sensor kit number 864252A01 (87-864252A01) to this current number. It is the oil-pressure safety switch used on MerCruiser V6 and V8 engines with electric fuel pumps — not a variable-resistance gauge sender, and not the separate audio-warning alarm switch.
Match this part in this order:
1. OEM number on the removed sensor/kit or in your parts catalog — 8M0210755, 87-8M0210755, 864252A01, 87-864252A01, or legacy switch 805024
2. Fuel system — MerCruiser sterndrive or inboard with an electric fuel pump (not mechanical pump applications)
3. Displacement family — MerCruiser 4.3L, 5.0L (305 CID), or 5.7L (350 CID) calling for this oil-sensor kit
Confirm the OEM number and that your engine uses an electric fuel pump before ordering. See the product images to compare physical form once media are uploaded.

Part numbers are listed for identification only. This is an aftermarket part manufactured by JLM Marine and is not sold as a genuine Mercury or MerCruiser component.
Compatible Engine Models
Confirm your engine model and serial number before ordering. On MerCruiser sterndrive and inboard engines, the identification plate and serial number are on the engine itself — typically on the cylinder block or flame-arrestor cover — not on an outboard transom bracket. Cross-check with the Mercury Parts Diagrams for your MerCruiser engine group.
This sensor serves the electric fuel pump oil-pressure safety circuit. It is not for engines with mechanical fuel pumps, and it is not the audio-warning alarm switch used on other MerCruiser oil-pressure circuits.

Important: Verify the OEM number on your removed sensor or parts catalog. Engines with mechanical fuel pumps, gauge-only senders, or a different oil-pressure switch should not use this listing.

Installation Guide
1
Allow the engine to cool fully. Disconnect the battery negative cable before working on the fuel-pump or oil-pressure circuit.
2
Label and disconnect the wiring from the old oil pressure sensor or switch. Unscrew the old unit and compare its thread, connector style, and OEM number to this 8M0210755 replacement. Do not force a mismatched thread.
3
Install the new sensor by hand, then tighten snugly with the correct wrench on the body hex — do not over-torque. Reconnect the harness per your MerCruiser wiring diagram.
4
Reconnect the battery, start the engine, and confirm the electric fuel pump runs with oil pressure present and that there are no oil leaks at the port.
Note: If you are unsure about fuel-pump safety wiring or oil-gallery location, have a marine technician complete the install. Always follow your engine service manual.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?+
This is an aftermarket JLM Marine replacement matched to MerCruiser 8M0210755 and its Mercury supersession path. It is not a genuine Mercury or MerCruiser part.
How does 8M0210755 relate to 864252A01 and 805024?+
Mercury superseded oil-sensor kit 864252A01 (87-864252A01) to current 8M0210755. Legacy switch 805024 is the earlier oil-pressure switch that this sensor kit harness replaces. Confirm which number your catalog or removed part shows before ordering.
Will this work with a mechanical fuel pump?+
No. This listing is for MerCruiser engines that use an electric fuel pump and call for 8M0210755 or superseded 864252A01. Mechanical-pump engines need a different oil-pressure switch or sender.
Is this the same as an oil pressure gauge sender or alarm switch?+
No. This is the electric fuel-pump oil-pressure safety sensor. A gauge sender is a variable-resistance unit for an oil-pressure gauge. A separate MerCruiser audio-warning alarm switch (for example the 84-817219 / 87-805605A1 path) is a different part.
