Installation Guide
- Position a suitable drain pan under the lower unit.
- Using a large flathead screwdriver or socket, remove the lower gearcase drain plug screw.
- Remove the upper vent plug screw located above the drain plug.
- Allow the gear oil to drain completely from the lower unit.
- Clean the drain and vent plugs, removing any metal shavings from the magnetic tips.
- Remove and discard the old gasket from the drain plug.
- Install the new gasket over the threads of the drain plug.
- Begin filling with new gear lube through the bottom drain hole.
- Continue filling until lube flows out of the upper vent hole, indicating the gearcase is full.
- Reinstall the upper vent plug screw first, then quickly reinstall the lower drain plug screw.
- Tighten both plugs securely, but do not overtighten.
