Installation Guide
- 1Turn the ignition off and disconnect the negative battery cable before working on trim wiring or the cradle-mounted sensor.
- 2Trim the outboard fully in (full down). Note connector orientation and harness routing on the old sensor before unplugging it.
- 3Remove the mounting screws and withdraw the old sensor from the mount cradle. Compare the new unit side by side — two-hole face, harness length, and connector should match.
- 4Install the new sensor on the cradle and tighten the fasteners to the torque values in your Mercury / Mariner Verado service manual.
- 5Route the corrugated harness clear of moving parts, mate the connector until it latches, and reconnect the battery.
- 6Power up and verify smooth trim travel from full in to full out. Perform any trim-position adaptation or calibration required by your engine’s service procedure after sensor replacement.
