Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and shift the outboard into the neutral position.
2. Unbolt and carefully remove the lower unit from the engine's midsection.
3. Locate and unbolt the water pump housing, noting the position of the bolts.
4. Remove the old impeller, impeller plate, gaskets, and Woodruff key from the driveshaft.
5. Thoroughly clean the driveshaft and all mating surfaces of the housing and plate.
6. Install the new gasket and impeller plate onto the lower unit.
7. Insert the new Woodruff key into the driveshaft slot.
8. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, turning the shaft clockwise to set the vanes in the correct orientation.
9. Apply a light coat of marine grease to the inside of the pump housing and install it over the impeller.
10. Tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications.
11. Re-install the lower unit, reconnect the battery, and test the engine using a water supply to verify proper water flow from the tell-tale port.
