Disconnect the battery. With the boat safely supported, trim the drive to a position that gives clear access to the trim sender on the transom shield.

Unplug the old sender at its connector inside the boat, note lead routing, then release the mounting hardware and withdraw the old unit.

Install the new sender in the same orientation, seat the mount squarely, and tighten the hardware evenly without over-torquing.

Route the lead along the original path, keep it clear of moving linkage and hot surfaces, then reconnect the plug fully.
