Installation Guide
- 1Turn the ignition off and disconnect the negative battery cable before opening the cowling or unplugging intake sensors.
- 2Locate the temperature sensor on the intake manifold, charge-cooler assembly, or integrated air-fuel module per your engine’s parts diagram. Note connector orientation before unplugging.
- 3Remove the flange fasteners and withdraw the old sensor. Compare the new unit side by side — two-hole flange, probe tip, O-ring, and molded connector should match.
- 4Confirm the O-ring is seated on the probe, insert the new sensor, and tighten the flange fasteners to the torque values in your Mercury / Mariner service manual.
- 5Mate the connector until it latches, route the harness clear of moving parts and heat sources, and reconnect the battery.
- 6Start the engine and confirm there are no intake air leaks at the sensor boss and no temperature-related warning codes after a warm-up cycle.
