Make your annual lower unit gear oil change a clean, fast, and hassle-free experience. Designed for marine enthusiasts who demand reliability, this premium Lower Unit Gear Oil Pump ensures a perfect bottom-up fill every time, eliminating air pockets and protecting your outboard motor's delicate gears.
Engineered for Universal Marine Compatibility
Whether you are running an American classic or a reliable foreign outboard, this pump kit has you covered. The package includes a versatile 3/8-inch swivel adapter that seamlessly fits most Mercury and Mercruiser marine engines, as well as the majority of American outboards. For international brands, we provide precision-machined 8mm and 10mm metal adapters, ensuring a perfect, leak-free connection for Yamaha, Honda, Suzuki, and other foreign outboard motors.
Durable Metal Adapters Outperform Plastic
Skip the fragile plastic adapters that strip easily and cause frustrating leaks. Our kit features heavy-duty adapters crafted from galvanized reinforced steel. These robust metal fittings are designed to withstand repeated use season after season, protecting the soft metal threads of your lower unit drain hole from costly damage.

Best Practices for Changing Lower Unit Gear Lube
To ensure the longevity of your marine engine, industry experts recommend changing your lower unit gear oil every 100 hours of operation or at least once a year. Using this dedicated pump allows for the essential "bottom-up" filling method. By pumping the marine-grade 80W-90 gear lube through the lower drain hole until it flows out the top vent, you effectively force all air out of the gearcase. This critical step prevents air pockets that can lead to oil starvation and catastrophic gear failure.
How to Use Your Gear Oil Pump
Operating the pump is straightforward. First, unscrew the bottom plug of your lower unit, followed by the top plug, and allow the old oil to drain completely. Next, assemble the pump, attach it to your quart bottle of gear lube, and connect the appropriate metal adapter to the lower drain hole. Pump the gear oil steadily into the lower unit. Stop pumping only when the fresh oil begins to flow out of the top port. Immediately install the upper screw to create a vacuum, then remove the adapter and quickly install the lower screw to complete the process.
