1. Safety First: Disconnect the spark plug wires and ensure the engine is securely mounted or in a stable position before starting work.

3. Remove the Water Pump Housing: Once the lower unit is detached, identify and unbolt the water pump housing to expose the impeller.
4. Inspect and Remove Old Impeller: Carefully observe the orientation of the existing impeller blades before removing it from the driveshaft. Remove the impeller and the small shaft key that locks it in place.
5. Clean and Prepare: Thoroughly clean the inside of the pump housing and the wear plate. Inspect for scoring, warping, or damage. Replace any worn components.
6. Install New Impeller: Place the shaft key back into its slot on the driveshaft. Slide the new impeller onto the shaft, ensuring its keyway aligns with the shaft key.
