How to Match This Part

This aftermarket oxygen sensor replaces Yamaha 67H-8592A-00 (catalog form 67H-8592A-00-00). It threads into the exhaust housing on selected Yamaha V6 two-stroke EFI outboards and reports exhaust oxygen content so the engine control unit can hold the fuel-air ratio. This unit is new production, not a remanufactured core.

Match this part in this order:
1. OEM number on the removed sensor or in your parts catalog (67H-8592A-00 / 67H-8592A-00-00, or superseding 67H-8592A-01 / 67H-8592A-01-00)
2. Model code and year — Yamaha DX150, LX150, SX150, VX150, LX200, or SX200 in the years listed below
3. Physical form — compare the product images with the sensor currently fitted

Identify the form from the product images: hex sensor body, slotted shield over the sensing tip, metal sealing washer under the hex, and an integral lead ending in a rectangular 2-pin connector with a black protective boot on the cable. Yamaha used more than one oxygen-sensor number across the V6 range — if your original is 65L-8592A or 68F-8592A, this is a different sensor.

Part Number Cross-Reference

Use this table to confirm equivalent part numbers across OEM and aftermarket brands. Yamaha catalogs the same sensor with a trailing -00 suffix (67H-8592A-00-00 / 67H-8592A-01-00).

Type Brand Part Number Notes
OEM Yamaha Outboard 67H-8592A-00 Primary reference; also listed as 67H-8592A-00-00
OEM Yamaha Outboard 67H-8592A-01 Supersedes 67H-8592A-00; also listed as 67H-8592A-01-00
Aftermarket Sierra 18-7655 Direct aftermarket replacement

Part numbers are listed for identification only. This is an aftermarket part manufactured by JLM Marine and is not sold as a genuine Yamaha component.

Compatible Engine Models

Confirm your engine model and year in the table below. For Yamaha owners: Yamaha Serial Number Guide and Yamaha Parts Diagrams. On Yamaha outboards the identification plate is on the port-side transom clamp bracket.

Engine Model HP Years Notes
DX150 150 2001–2005 V6 2-stroke EFI
LX150 150 2001 V6 2-stroke EFI
SX150 150 2001–2004 V6 2-stroke EFI
VX150 150 2001–2004 V6 2-stroke EFI
LX200 200 2001 V6 2-stroke EFI
SX200 200 2001–2005 V6 2-stroke EFI

Match the OEM number on the sensor you remove. Adjacent Yamaha V6 oxygen-sensor families (65L-8592A / 68F-8592A) are not this listing.

Technical Specifications

Primary OEM number 67H-8592A-00
Mounting Threaded into the exhaust housing
Electrical connection Integral lead with rectangular 2-pin connector; protective boot on cable
Visible form Hex body, slotted tip shield, metal sealing washer
Condition New production — not remanufactured

Installation Guide

1

Allow the engine and exhaust housing to cool fully. Disconnect the battery negative cable before unplugging the sensor lead.

2

Note the cable routing, then unplug the connector. Unscrew the old sensor from the exhaust housing with the correct oxygen-sensor socket or wrench on the hex — do not crush the lead.

3

Confirm the OEM number and connector layout match this 67H-8592A-00 assembly. Thread the new sensor in by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten snugly on the hex. Follow the Yamaha service manual for your model for tightening and thread treatment.

4

Reconnect the plug until it locks, restore the battery, start the engine, and confirm there is no exhaust leak at the bung and that the EFI system runs without an oxygen-sensor fault.

Note: Professional installation is recommended to ensure safety and optimal performance.

Troubleshooting & FAQ

Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?+

This is an aftermarket JLM Marine replacement matched to Yamaha 67H-8592A-00. It is not a genuine Yamaha part.

My Yamaha uses 65L-8592A or 68F-8592A — will this fit?+

No. Those are different Yamaha oxygen-sensor families used on other V6 models (including many HPDI / 65L applications). Order only if your removed sensor or catalog calls for 67H-8592A-00 or 67H-8592A-01.

How do I confirm connector fit?+

Compare the product images with your removed sensor: this assembly uses an integral lead with a rectangular 2-pin connector and a black protective boot on the cable. If your harness uses a different plug shape or pin count, do not force a connection.

Is this a remanufactured sensor?+

No. This listing is new production, not a rebuilt or remanufactured core.
