Installation Guide
- Disconnect the fuel line and remove the carburetor from the engine mounting surface. Clean the exterior of the carburetor thoroughly before disassembly.
- Remove the float bowl by unscrewing the retaining screws with the included washers. Take note of the pilot screw's original position (count turns before removal).
- Remove the float pin and lift out the float assembly. Extract the needle valve from the float arm by removing the float arm pin.
- Remove all old gaskets, O-rings, and sealing surfaces. Clean all carburetor passages with carburetor cleaner and compressed air.
- Install the new O-ring (6G1-14984-00-00) onto the pilot screw body. Thread the pilot screw into its seat gently until seated, then back out to the original position.
- Insert the new needle valve (6G1-14546-01-00) into the float arm. Secure the float arm pin (688-14548-00-00) into the float.
- Install the new float assembly into the carburetor body using the new float pin (676-14186-00-00). Verify free movement and proper height.
- Position the new gasket (6G1-14126-00-00) onto the carburetor body mating surface. Ensure it is seated properly with no overlap.
- Attach the float bowl and secure with the four screws with washers (97980-04114-00). Tighten evenly in a cross pattern to avoid warping.
- Install both caps (6G1-14966-00-00 and 679-14966-00-00) in their respective locations on the carburetor.
- Reinstall the carburetor onto the engine with a new mounting gasket if required. Reconnect the fuel line and throttle linkage.
- Prime the fuel system, start the engine, and adjust the pilot screw for smooth idle. Check for fuel leaks around all gasket surfaces.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q: How do I confirm this kit fits my specific engine?
A: Cross-reference your engine model and year with the compatibility table above. Also verify your original carburetor part number matches one of the OEM references listed (369-87122-1, 6G1-W0093-00-00, 11502M, etc.). If your model appears in the table but your carburetor looks different, do not proceed with purchase.
Q: What are the signs that my carburetor needs rebuilding?
A: Common symptoms include rough or inconsistent idle, difficulty starting, fuel leaking from the carburetor bowl, poor acceleration, or the engine flooding. A worn needle valve or damaged float can cause fuel overflow and black smoke.
Q: How often should I rebuild my carburetor?
A: Rebuild intervals depend on usage and fuel quality. For engines used regularly in saltwater or with ethanol-blended fuel, inspect the carburetor annually and rebuild every 2–3 years or when performance issues arise. Engines in storage for extended periods should be rebuilt before returning to service.
Q: Can I reuse any of the old carburetor components?
A: It is not recommended. Gaskets, O-rings, and the needle valve are wear items that lose sealing integrity over time. Reusing old parts can result in fuel leaks, flooding, or poor performance. Always install all new components included in the kit.
Q: Do I need to adjust the float height after installation?
A: Float height is typically pre-set by the float and needle valve design in these carburetors. However, after installation, visually inspect the float for free movement and ensure it is parallel to the carburetor body when inverted. Consult your engine's service manual for specific float height measurements if available.
Q: Is this an OEM or aftermarket part?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.
Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.
