Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the spark plug leads and turn off the fuel supply for safety.
2. Place the outboard motor in a stable, upright position.
3. Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) and carefully lower it from the engine.
4. Unscrew the bolts on the water pump housing cover and remove it.
5. Take note of the blade direction of the old impeller before pulling it off the driveshaft.
6. Clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect the wear plate and housing for grooves or damage. Replace if necessary.
7. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft. You may need to turn the driveshaft clockwise while pushing down to help bend the blades into place.
8. Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
9. Apply a light coat of marine grease to the driveshaft splines and reinstall the lower unit.
10. Reconnect the spark plug leads and test the engine using a water supply (flusher or in the water) to confirm a steady water stream from the tell-tale outlet.
