Installation Guide

1. Shift the outboard into the neutral position.
2. Remove the bolts that secure the lower unit (gearcase) and carefully detach it from the upper casing.
3. Unbolt and remove the water pump housing cover to expose the impeller.
4. Note the rotational direction of the old impeller's fins before removal.
5. Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft, and remove the Woodruff key and old gaskets.
6. Thoroughly clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect it for wear or damage.
7. Install the new Woodruff key and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, twisting it in the direction of engine rotation.
8. Apply a thin layer of marine grease to the new gaskets and re-seat the water pump housing.
9. Tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
10. Re-attach the lower unit to the outboard, ensuring the driveshaft and water tube are correctly aligned.
