- Install the new seals and gaskets, and tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
- Reassemble the lower unit to the engine, ensuring the driveshaft, water tube, and shift shaft are correctly aligned.
- Refill the gear lube and test the engine using a water supply (flushing muffs or in water). Check for a steady water stream from the tell-tale outlet.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
How do I confirm this kit fits my engine?
First, check the "Compatible Engine Models" table to see if your Yamaha model and year range are listed. For further confirmation, use our Yamaha Serial Number Guide to identify your exact model and cross-reference the OEM part number.
What are the signs of a failing water pump?
Common signs of a worn or damaged impeller include the engine overheating at idle or low speeds, a weak or intermittent water stream from the tell-tale outlet, or visible cracks and brittleness on the impeller vanes during a visual inspection.
How often should I replace the water pump impeller?
As a preventative maintenance measure, it's recommended to inspect the impeller annually and replace it every 1-2 years or after every 100-200 hours of use. Service intervals should be shorter for engines operated frequently in saltwater or sandy/silty conditions.
OEM vs. Aftermarket?
This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?

What is your warranty and return policy?
This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.
