Troubleshooting & FAQ
- How do I confirm this kit fits my engine?
- Check your engine's model, year, and horsepower against the "Compatible Engine Models" table. You can also cross-reference your existing part number with our "Part Number Cross-Reference" list to ensure a match.
- What are the signs of a failing water pump impeller?
- Common signs include a weak or non-existent water stream from the "telltale" outlet, engine overheating alarms, or visible damage like cracked, brittle, or missing vanes on the old impeller upon inspection.
- How often should a water pump impeller be replaced?
- For preventative maintenance, it is recommended to inspect the impeller annually and replace it every 1-2 years, depending on usage (hours) and operating conditions (salt vs. freshwater). Always replace it if you notice a decrease in cooling performance.
