Installation Guide
- Shut off the engine and close the raw water intake valve (seacock).
- Locate the raw water pump housing, typically mounted on the engine block.
- Loosen and remove the screws on the pump cover plate.
- Carefully pry off the cover plate and remove the old gasket. Note its orientation.
- Use impeller pullers or two pliers to grip the hub of the old impeller and pull it straight out of the housing.
- Clean the inside of the pump housing, ensuring it is free of any debris or old impeller blade pieces.
- Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with a water-based lubricant to ease installation.
- Insert the new impeller by pushing it into the housing while turning it in the direction of engine rotation to bend the blades correctly.
- Place the correct new gasket and O-ring (if applicable for your pump model) on the cover plate.
- Re-install the cover plate and tighten the screws evenly in a star pattern to ensure a proper seal.
- Open the raw water intake valve before starting the engine.
- Start the engine and immediately check for water leaks and verify proper water flow from the exhaust.
