Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the spark plug wires and shift the outboard into the neutral position.
2. Locate and remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper leg of the motor.
3. Carefully lower and separate the lower unit from the driveshaft housing. You may need to disconnect a speedometer tube.
4. Unscrew the bolts on the top of the water pump housing and slide it up the driveshaft.
5. Remove the old impeller, taking note of the fin direction. Remove the old woodruff key from the shaft.
6. Clean any debris or corrosion from the impeller housing and wear plate.
7. Install the new woodruff key into the slot on the driveshaft.
8. Slide the new impeller onto the shaft, aligning its keyway with the key. Turn the driveshaft clockwise to help bend the fins into position C as you lower the housing over it.
9. Lightly grease the housing interior and bolt threads before re-securing the water pump housing.
10. Re-install the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube align correctly before tightening the bolts.
