Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover for safety.
2. Locate and unbolt the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard's midsection.
3. Carefully lower and separate the unit to expose the water pump housing on top of the gearcase.
4. Remove the bolts securing the water pump cover to access the impeller.
5. Note the rotational direction of the old impeller's blades before removal.
6. Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft, also removing the impeller key.
7. Clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect it for scoring, warping, or corrosion.
8. Lightly lubricate the new impeller and housing interior with marine-grade grease.
9. Install the new impeller key and slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, turning it clockwise to seat the blades correctly.
10. Reinstall the water pump cover and torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specified values.
11. Carefully guide the driveshaft back into the engine as you reattach the lower unit.
12. Reconnect the battery and test the engine using a water supply (flusher or test tank) to confirm water is pumping from the tell-tale outlet.
