Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard motor into the neutral position.
2. Carefully unbolt and remove the lower unit from the outboard's upper casing.
3. Locate the water pump housing on the lower unit and remove its mounting bolts.
4. Lift the housing to expose the old impeller. Note the orientation of the blades before removing it.
5. Thoroughly clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect the wear plate for scoring or damage.
6. Align the new impeller with the drive shaft key and slide it down.
7. Twist the impeller in the direction of engine rotation while lowering the housing over it to correctly seat the blades.
8. Secure the water pump housing with its bolts, tightening them to the manufacturer's specified torque.
9. Reinstall the lower unit onto the outboard motor.
