Package Contents
- 1 x Transom Saver Motor Toter Support (Black)
- 2 x Outboard Steer Stop Stabilizer Clips (Grey)
Installation Guide
- Tilt your outboard engine to its maximum upward position.
-
Verify Fitment: Before proceeding, ensure there is at least 9.25 inches of clearance from the tip of the tilt piston to the engine bracket.
-
Important: Check for any grease fittings on the motor's tilt mechanism. This support cannot be used if a grease fitting is present, as it may cause damage.
- Place the transom saver support directly onto the hydraulic tilt ram. The end with the recessed hold should be positioned to clear the piston seal.
- Slowly lower the engine until the support is held firmly in place between the tilt ram and the engine bracket. Do not apply excessive pressure.
- Attach the two included hydraulic steering stabilizer clips to the main steering rams to prevent unwanted side-to-side engine movement during transit.
- For engines with a 2-pipe configuration, we recommend using two transom savers to achieve better force balance and extend the service life of your equipment.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q: How do I confirm this transom saver will fit my engine?
A: First, check the compatibility tables on this page to see if your brand, model, and year are listed. Second, you must measure the clearance on your motor. Tilt the engine all the way up and measure the distance from the tip of the tilt piston to the engine bracket—it must be at least 9.25 inches. Finally, ensure there are no grease fittings on the tilt ram that would interfere with installation.
Q: What is the purpose of the stabilizer clips?
A: The two included stabilizer clips are designed to fit on the hydraulic steering rams. They prevent the engine from turning side-to-side during trailering, providing additional stability and protecting the steering system from unnecessary stress.
Q: My boat rocks a lot during trailering. Will one support be enough?
A: For maximum stability, especially on engines with a 2-pipe trim system, it is highly recommended to use two transom savers. This balances the load across both sides of the engine bracket, providing superior support and reducing stress on the transom more effectively than a single support.
Q: What is the difference between an OEM part and this aftermarket part?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part, not an OEM component. We build our parts to meet or exceed OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected to ensure consistent quality and performance.
Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.
Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.
Important Notes
-
Verify Fitment Carefully: Review product images and specifications to ensure they match your requirements. Even if your model is listed, do not purchase if there are discrepancies. This is especially important for the 9.25-inch clearance requirement and the notes on pipe configurations.
-
Incompatible Models: This part is NOT compatible with Yamaha VMAX/HPDI/SHO, Mercury Verado, Mercury Racing, or smaller horsepower models from any brand listed. Please review the detailed compatibility list and notes carefully.
-
Grease Fittings: DO NOT use this support if there is a grease fitting on the motor's tilt ram, as it may break the fitting.
- This product is an aftermarket replacement part and is not an OEM component.
- Professional installation is recommended to ensure safety and optimal performance.
