Installation Guide

  1. Safety First: Disconnect the battery and shift the outboard into neutral. Place the lower unit in a suitable stand or on a workbench.
  2. Access the Pump: Remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase). Carefully separate it from the upper engine housing.
  3. Disassemble Housing: Unscrew the bolts on the water pump housing. Lift the housing to expose the impeller.
  4. Remove Old Components: Take out the old impeller, wear plate, gaskets, and key. Note the orientation of the impeller vanes.
  5. Clean Surfaces: Thoroughly clean the driveshaft and all mating surfaces where gaskets and plates will sit. Remove any old sealant or corrosion.
  6. Install New Parts: Place the new pump plate gasket and plate over the driveshaft. Slide the new key into the driveshaft slot.
