Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover for safety.
2. Locate and unbolt the lower unit (gearcase) from the upper engine casing and carefully separate them.
3. Identify the water pump housing on top of the lower unit and remove its cover bolts.
4. Take note of the rotational direction of the old impeller's fins before removal.
5. Slide the old impeller off the driveshaft, and be sure to remove the small impeller key as well.
6. Thoroughly clean the interior of the pump housing and inspect it for wear, scoring, or corrosion.
7. Apply a light coat of marine grease or a soap-and-water mixture to the new impeller and inside the housing.
8. Install the new key into its slot on the driveshaft.
9. Slide the new impeller onto the shaft, turning the driveshaft clockwise to correctly bend the fins into position.
10. Reinstall the housing cover and gasket, tightening the bolts securely and evenly.
11. Reattach the lower unit to the upper casing and fasten all bolts to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
12. Once assembled, test the engine in water to confirm a steady stream of water is exiting the tell-tale port.
