Skeg Guards for Outboards & Sterndrives

Stainless steel guards for the skeg beneath an outboard or sterndrive lower unit. Choose a model-specific guard for your engine or drive. These are engine skeg guards, not adhesive keel strips for a boat hull.

Match your lower unit before ordering

Engine brand and horsepower alone do not confirm fit. Check the model, year, shaft length where specified, gearcase type and skeg shape against the individual product page. Standard, Command Thrust, VMAX SHO and other gearcases can require different guards.

• MerCruiser Bravo I & III, 1990 onward — JLM 1900, cross-reference 27051. Excludes Bravo II, XR and Sport Master models.
• MerCruiser Alpha One Gen II, 1991 onward — JLM 1901, cross-reference 27031. Check the drive generation before ordering.
• Select Mercury, Honda, Tohatsu and other outboards — JLM 1906, cross-references 27071 / 35-SS625. See the detailed model and year table; it does not fit every engine in the horsepower range.

For an intact or damaged skeg

Fit and installation depend on the condition of the original skeg. Review the product instructions and required remaining skeg material before drilling or fitting a guard. A skeg guard is not a substitute for inspecting a bent, cracked or otherwise damaged lower unit.
