Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent accidental starting.
2. Place the outboard in neutral and remove the lower unit (gearcase) by undoing the mounting bolts.
3. Locate and unbolt the water pump housing cover to expose the old impeller.
4. Note the rotational direction of the old impeller's vanes before removal.
5. Remove the old impeller, gaskets, key, and O-rings from the housing and driveshaft.
6. Thoroughly clean the inside of the pump housing and all mating surfaces.
7. Install the new gasket and O-ring onto the pump housing.
8. Insert the new impeller key into the driveshaft.
9. Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with marine grease.
10. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, rotating it in the correct direction to properly seat the vanes.
11. Re-install the water pump housing and tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
12. Re-attach the lower unit to the outboard and test the engine on a water supply to confirm proper water flow from the tell-tale outlet.
