Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the boat's battery before beginning work.
2. Close the engine's raw water intake seacock.
3. Locate the sea water pump, typically mounted on the engine block and driven by the serpentine belt.
4. Loosen the tension on the serpentine belt and remove it from the pump pulley.
5. Note the hose connections, then loosen the clamps and detach the inlet and outlet hoses. Be prepared for some water to spill.
6. Remove the bolts securing the water pump to the engine bracket and carefully lift the pump out.
7. Remove the pump's end cover screws to expose the impeller.
8. Pry or pull the old impeller out of the housing. Note the orientation of the vanes for proper installation of the new part.
9. Lightly lubricate the inside of the pump housing and the new impeller with a water-resistant marine grease or soap.
10. Install the new impeller by pushing it into the housing while turning it in the direction of engine rotation to correctly bend the vanes.
11. Re-secure the end cover, re-mount the pump, and reattach the hoses and serpentine belt.
12. Open the seacock, reconnect ahe battery, start the engine, and immediately check for proper water flow and any leaks.
