Package Contents
- 1 x Impeller (Jabsco 1210-0001)
- 1 x O-Ring
- 4 x Gaskets
Installation Guide
- Ensure the engine is off and the sea cock is closed to prevent water from entering the vessel.
- Locate the raw water pump housing on your engine. You may need to remove other components for access.
- Unscrew the bolts holding the pump's faceplate cover. Keep the screws in a safe place.
- Gently pry off the cover. Be prepared for some residual water to spill out.
- Using impeller pullers or two pliers, carefully grip the hub of the old impeller and pull it straight out of the housing.
- Clean the inside of the pump housing thoroughly, removing any old gasket material, debris, or broken impeller blades.
- Inspect the housing for scoring or wear. Significant damage may require pump replacement.
- Lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with a water-based lubricant or glycerine. Do not use petroleum-based grease.
- Insert the new impeller by pushing it in while rotating the shaft in its normal direction of operation to bend the blades correctly.
- Place the new gasket or O-ring onto the faceplate or housing.
- Re-install the faceplate cover and tighten the screws evenly in a star pattern.
- Open the sea cock, start the engine, and immediately check for proper water flow and for any leaks around the pump cover.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
Q: How do I confirm this impeller fits my engine?
A: The most reliable method is to match your existing impeller's part number to one listed in our "Part Number Cross-Reference" table. You should also compare the dimensions (Diameter: 57mm, Width: 31.5mm, Shaft: 16mm) and drive type (Spline Drive) with your old part.
Q: How often should I replace the water pump impeller?
A: We recommend replacing your impeller annually as part of routine maintenance. However, if your engine is used heavily or operates in water with high sediment levels, you may need to replace it sooner.
Q: What are the common signs of a failing impeller?
A: Key indicators include the engine running hotter than normal, a noticeable reduction in water flow from the exhaust outlet, and visible cracks or stiffness in the impeller blades during inspection. In severe cases, a failed impeller can cause rapid overheating.
Q: OEM vs. Aftermarket?
A: This listing is an aftermarket replacement part (not an OEM component). We build to OEM specifications using comparable-grade materials. Production is done in an ISO9002-certified facility, and each batch is inspected for consistent performance.
Q: How fast do you ship and how much does it cost?
A: We offer fast global shipping—typically 5–15 days worldwide—and standard shipping is free. Expedited options are available at checkout depending on your location.
Q: What is your warranty and return policy?
A: This product includes a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal use. If something goes wrong, contact our support team with your order details. Returns are accepted within our standard return window (unused & in original condition); please see our policy page or reach out for instructions.
