Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Place the outboard in neutral and remove the bolts securing the lower unit (gearcase).
3. Carefully lower and separate the gearcase from the upper driveshaft housing.
4. Remove the water pump housing bolts and slide the housing up off the driveshaft.
5. Note the rotational direction of the old impeller's blades before removing it.
6. Remove the old impeller, gaskets, and wear plate, cleaning all surfaces of debris or old sealant.
7. Install the new lower gasket and wear plate.
8. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft. Turn the driveshaft clockwise while pushing down to correctly orient the blades.
9. Lightly grease the inside of the water pump housing and install it over the impeller.
10. Re-install and tighten the housing bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
11. Re-install the lower unit, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube align correctly.
12. Once secured, reconnect the battery and test the engine in a water source, checking for a strong tell-tale stream.
