Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove the engine cover for safety.
2. Loosen the bolts connecting the lower unit (gearcase) to the upper driveshaft housing and carefully separate it.
3. Locate the water pump housing on top of the gearcase and remove its mounting bolts.
4. Slide the pump housing up to expose the old impeller. Note the rotational direction of the existing blades.
5. Remove the old impeller from the driveshaft, being careful not to lose the drive key.
6. Clean any debris or corrosion from the inside of the pump housing and wear plate.
7. Slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, aligning it with the drive key.
8. Apply a light coat of marine grease to the inside of the housing and reinstall it, rotating the driveshaft to seat the blades.
9. Secure the housing with the bolts, ensuring they are tightened to the manufacturer's torque specifications.
10. Reassemble the lower unit to the engine, ensuring the driveshaft, shift shaft, and water tube are correctly aligned.
11. Refill the gearcase with the specified lubricant.
12. Reconnect the battery, start the engine in a water source, and confirm a steady stream of water from the tell-tale outlet.
