Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and shut off the fuel supply.
2. Remove the lower unit (gearcase) from the outboard motor. Refer to your service manual for specific instructions.
3. Unbolt and carefully remove the water pump housing cover.
4. Note the orientation of the old impeller's blades before sliding it off the driveshaft. Remove the drive key.
5. Clean the inside of the pump housing and inspect the wear plate and housing for scoring, warping, or damage.
6. Lightly lubricate the new impeller and the inside of the housing with marine grease.
7. Install the new drive key onto the driveshaft flat.
8. Slide the new impeller onto the shaft while turning the shaft clockwise to correctly bend the blades.
9. Reinstall the water pump housing and tighten bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
10. Reattach the lower unit to the outboard.
11. Test the engine using a water supply (flushing attachment or in water) to confirm proper water flow from the tell-tale outlet.
