Installation Guide

1. Disconnect the battery and remove the engine cover. Locate and unbolt the lower unit (gearcase) from the upper engine leg.
2. Carefully lower the gearcase to expose the driveshaft and water pump housing.
3. Remove the bolts securing the water pump housing cover to access the impeller. Note the orientation of the old impeller's fins.
4. Remove the old impeller, O-rings, and gaskets, taking care not to lose the woodruff key from the driveshaft.
5. Clean all mating surfaces thoroughly, removing any old sealant or corrosion.
6. Install the new woodruff key, then slide the new impeller onto the driveshaft, rotating it clockwise to bend the fins correctly.
7. Reassemble the water pump housing with new gaskets and O-rings, tightening bolts to the manufacturer's specified torque.
8. Carefully guide the driveshaft back into the engine as you raise the lower unit, ensuring all connections align. Reinstall and tighten the mounting bolts.
